"Harmony" Cardigan Crochet Pattern by Joanna Crochet Designs

 


MATERIALS


  • Magicyarnball yarn or any yarn of your choice that meet my gauge (XS – 2XL 1780m – 2600m, plus 600 – 1000m for the sleeves), 4-ply. You can find it here.
  • 3.5mm hook size
  • Needle
  • 3-4 buttons of your choice
  • Stitch markers

GAUGE

17sts x 20 rows = 10cm x 10 cm


ABBREVIATIONS


St = stitch

Ch = chain

Dc = double crochet

Hbhdc = herringbone hdc

Fpdc = front post double crochet

Bpdc = back post double crochet

Hdc = half double crochet

Sk = skip

Trc = treble crochet

Fsc = foundation single crochet


SPECIAL STITCHES

1.Herringbone Half Double Crochet (hbhdc): yarn over, insert hook into the next the stitch and pull up a loop (3 loops on the hook). Pull first loop straight through the 2nd (just like a slst), yarn over, and pull through 2 remaining loops on hook.

2.Cross stitch with double crochet: skip next stitch, double crochet in the next stitch, double crochet in the skipped stitch.

This is a one-piece, top-down cardigan. You begin with the yoke, there is an initial chain combination for each size in the instructions. Then, shape the sleeves and finish by crocheting the body. You can adjust the length to your preference.
